Full-Range Fingering Charts

Most band method books contain fingering charts. Unfortunately, they often do not cover the full range of the instruments. When it’s time to learn the very low and very high notes, it’s nice to hand the students fingering charts that do cover those notes. Here is a collection of full-range fingering charts, originally created by BandFolio.com (a website that no longer exists):

I like all these fingering charts with a couple exceptions: (1) The Horn in F chart starts on the F below Middle C. The horn can easily play a full octave below middle C. Simply use the trumpet fingerings from middle C to F for the missing notes; and (2) The high B key on the flute chart is not illustrated. It is between the E and D keys.

Video Disclaimer

The attached videos are not perfect examples of how each tune should be played. They are recordings of junior high students, some of whom have had their instruments for only a few months. Also, they are not professional recordings. They were taken by band parents using home equipment and naturally focusing on their own children.

I include them for two reasons: (1) To give you an idea of what the arrangements are like, and (2) To illustrate the kind of performance you can expect from your junior high students.
